Dear fellow owners of the 2900 Ocean avenue Condo!

Dear fellow owners of the 2900 Ocean avenue Condo, Brooklyn NY 11235:
Something is deeply wrong with the management of our condo.
I would like to share with you my recent correspondence with (nominal) chair of the Condo Board, Ms. Bishop.
Here is my latest email to her:

Ms. Bishop:
Email me the “written annual reports summarizing receipts and expenditures” for the past 20 years for examination, according to quoted below Condo Law.
§ 339-w. Books of receipts and expenditures; availability for
examination. The manager or board of managers, as the case may be, shall
keep detailed, accurate records, in chronological order, of the receipts
and expenditures arising from the operation of the property. Such
records and the vouchers authorizing the payments shall be available for
examination by the unit owners at convenient hours of weekdays. A
written report summarizing such receipts and expenditures shall be
rendered by the board of managers to all unit owners at least once
I do not recall receiving any information of this type from her or the Board EVER!
And this is YOUR MONEY!
We do not know how they are spent, and who gets paid, and for what.
I have many other questions, but let us start with this.
The ultimate source of Authority in Condo management are the owners themselves, not the Board, and not its chair.
Demand the true and timely answers from Ms. Bishop on this and other matters.
Democracy does start at home, the process of the condo management has to be carefully watched.
This condo did not have a meeting for the last several years, for a variety of reasons, and this is clearly abnormal.
I started building this website to facilitate the communications between us, and to have the safe and convenient virtual meeting place for the owners as the substitute for the physical meetings.
Please let me know about your concerns and thoughts about the managing the affairs of this condo, and how we can make it better.
All my interactions with the condo present managing team and the related issues will be published here, in the open and transparent manner.
This is your property.
I would like to hear from you.
Sincerely, Michael Novakhov

Grace Bishop did not pay her maintenance, had liens filed against her and lied about it to get elected:

Election Fraud!!! Contact your Brooklyn District Attorney if you have additional information about kicks backs / profit splitting

Grace Bishop ran for a president and a treasurer before but never told anyone that she didn’t pay her maintenance and had 2 liens filed against her unit twice. FALSE ELECTION ! Concealment! She handles thousands of dollars in accounts and overspends on fees.
See attached documents. Did she tell you that before she got elected?

The lien mentioned in this email was paid in full over 30 years ago. Further, I did not seek a position on the Board and was recruited to join over 20 years ago by the presiding Board President, Phil Newman. I make no decisions regarding how money is spent, everything is approved by a majority of the Board. In addition, the Board has an elected Treasurer that approves expenses and everything is overseen by the Management Company. I plan to seek the advice of an attorney over the outrageous claims made against my character. shame on you both.
